Stockbridge

Set in the heart of the Test Valley, Stockbridge is the epitome of a small market town with the world renown Test river flowing through it. The town has an eclectic mix of independent specialist shops with a wide range of tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. From our base in the Grosvenor Hotel situated on the High Street you can explore the local countryside via the Test Way, giving you access to fantastic views of the Test river and the local countryside.

The Test Way runs along the course of the old Sprat and Winkle railway line allowing you to safely cycle to many of the nearby sights and attractions, whilst accessing several other cycle routes including The Monarch Way and Clarendon Way.

Local attractions include:

  • Danebury Ring an iron age hill fort with fantastic views across the countryside.
  • Houghton Lodge which has beautiful gardens and tea rooms to enjoy.
  • Black Chalke vineyards, an award winning producer of sparkling wines. Tours and tastings available.
  • Mottisfont Abbey is a National Trust house with a magnificent house and gardens to explore.
